At age 11 I convinced my parents to allow me to join martial arts, they enrolled me in Tae Kwon Do. As I grew into a young man I started to realize just how much martial arts was becoming a big part of my life. I achieved my first black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I had to stop for a short time due to some family problems. I graduated from Sharon Hill High School in 1978. In 1981 I got married and I am still married for 31 years now. I sat down with my wife and told her how important my Martial Arts training was to me, Susan urged me to go back and continue it. In 1981 I joined a Kung Fu school in Philadelphia where I trained for several years and still do. I wanted to continue my karate, I went back and started with my Tang Soo Do. After receiving my black Belt I wanted to teach others what I have learned while continuing to learn even more myself.
I am the Founder and Chief Instructor of World martial Arts Academy. Since 1999 our mission has been to provide a well-rounded karate program in which all can learn from. I strive to teach my students the value of dedication, respect for others as well as themselves, rigorous training and attention to detail. We teach our student’s traditional and sport karate as well as self-defense and Jujitsu, we also hold separate classes for Hung Gar Kung fu. Our students range from age four to adults. We have promoted numerous students to Black Belt. It typically takes five to six years to achieve this rank in our school. My background includes Korean Karate and Southern China Kung Fu. I currently hold the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt as well as Sifu in the Hung Gar Kung Fu system. Martial Arts has been apart of my life since 1971 and always will be. I recently traveled to Hong Kong to participate in a tournament and a demonstration with my Kung Fu School. We were able to see and participate in a lot of the traditional Forms that originated within that system. I was also able to visit many of the Temples and see the history behind many of the stories we were told. It was truly a great experience and I was able to share all of this with my students when I returned.
I am also currently the owner of Eagle Glass in Chester Count. I am currently mentoring my sons in the business. We are a family owned business and they wish to learn all the aspects so we can continue to serve our community in the future as we have in the past.
